Most bathroom sinks have a small hole located near the faucet. Many people wonder if this small hole is unnecessary or if it serves any special purpose.

This small hole is connected to the drain pipe below. Therefore, if you notice a bad smell in your bathroom, especially from this small hole, you can mix vinegar with baking soda and pour it into the hole of the sink.
