A creamy and refreshing twist on the classic Key Lime Pie, layered beautifully in a trifle with graham cracker crust, lime filling, and whipped cream!
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
Zest of 2 limes
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 package (10 oz) graham crackers, crushed
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup fresh whipped cream (for topping)
Lime slices and extra zest for garnish
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. Beat until smooth and creamy.
Add the freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is well incorporated and the filling is smooth.
In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
Layer the bottom of your trifle dish with the graham cracker mixture, pressing it down gently to form a crust.
Spoon half of the lime filling over the graham cracker crust and spread it evenly.
Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the lime filling, spreading it evenly.
Repeat the layers with the remaining lime filling and whipped cream.
Top the trifle with fresh whipped cream, lime slices, and additional lime zest for a beautiful finishing touch.
